Maison Bertaux, oh how my heart flutters.......

Why does my heart flutter at maison Bertaux you may ask? Well just because it has the best cakes ever that's why! Just looking at the photos is making me hungry!!! Ever since I tasted my first bite of cheesecake from maison Bertaux I have been in love! Situated on 28th Greek Street, the pattiserie claims to be the 'London's oldest. (and best) patisserie' none of which I can disagree on, as the cakes here are magical!

Delicious cakes and pastries on display, croissants are £1.30 each which I think is quite cheap! Assorted tarts from £4.00, eclairs £4.20, I think the cookies are around £1-£2. And the green round object in the far left are marzipan figs and are £4.50 each. The prices might seem slightly pricey but it is soooooo worth it, especially the cakes!

My favourite dim sum place in London

Hi everyone, how are you? Here is my post about the best dim sum, well the best I have tried so far in London. I have been coming here since I was very young, it is opened by people from Hong Kong, and has been opened since the early 90's so it has that level of authenticity when it comes to the Cantonese dim sum|!It's a great place and it is always filled with people so I would recommend to reserve a booking before coming!

Bond and brook. tea and scones in the city!

I have been to Bond Brook more than five times now, and every time has been comfortable and relaxing. You hardly find the place completely packed, so it's good for chatting with friends and family after a long day shopping. Not only do they have good taste for interiors they also have good taste in fashion, the photos in the restaurant are of classic Dior couture photos.

Torro D'Argamunt (Nougat of Argamunt)

Here is something I found in trusty old Marks and Spencer's the other day and it is amazing!I have been fascinated by nougats ever since my trip to Valencia two months ago and I was thrilled to find that they had this brand on sale in Mark's and Spencer's, it is slightly pricey but worth every single penny I spent!

Vicen's Nougat (£4.99), the brand is called Torron's Vicens they are from a place called Agramunt in Spaim, the place is famous for its nougat which is known is Spanish as Torro. The company itself was founded by the Vicens family in 1775, it is 'one of the oldest industrial companies accredited by the protected geographical indication torro d'argument.

Borough market, a little paradise for little old me.....

Having lived in London for about 20 years, I am embarassed to say that until this day I have never been to Borough Market! Having heard all wonderful stories from my fellow international students I decided it was time to give it a visit.

Luckily on the day that I visited the market was opened and in full bloom! There were so much to see, so much to buy, it was well and truly overwhelming.

Carluccio's WHY YOU SO SALTY!!!!

Carluccio's at Brent Cross, a really bad bet. I'm always slightly afraid of chain restaurants; even if one is good the next one might not be the same. But in Brent cross all you get is chain restaurants, despite my bad first experience with Carluccio's a few years ago I decided to give it another go......

Pix bar in Covent Garden,

The bar itself was inspired by the pinxto bars in Barcelona and San Sebastian, Spain. Pinxto/Pinchos in Spanish literally means thorns or sticks. A pinxto in this sense is a small snack; some also say it is the local word for tapas that is usually eaten at a bar or taverns. The bar was quite dark, and gave it a mysterious atmosphere, there was modern Spanish music playing and the wooden furniture gave it a modern bar look.

Banh mi bay, satisfying my Vietnamese food cravings...

Hi everyone, how's the week been treating you all? I have to say, I have always been a fan of Vietnamese food, but sadly in London I have not been able to find a good Vietnamese food spot. So when I heard about Banh Mi Bay from a friend I jumped to the chance to try it.......

“Yes, that's it! Said the Hatter with a sigh, it's always tea time.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Tea is served in the charming courtyard, setting the scene for the special afternoon tea.

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to be given a promotion for the Mad Hatter's afternoon tea at the Sanderson's hotel. So I jumped to the chance to try the wonderful afternoon tea for free in a truly magical like setting in the courtyard.

Meeting Le Cordon Bleu

It has been my dream to attend the world class culinary institute Le Cordon Bleu for a long time. So when I heard they were opening in London, I jumped at the chance to visit the institute and it’s café as soon as I could. The café is situated opposite the British museum, and behind the pied bull yard archway. Once there I was immediately drawn to striking blue coloured exterior of the café, its window was filled with mouth watering pastries and preserves.
